International plan
You are automatically enrolled in this plan if you if you are a member of the following groups:
- International students
- Visiting scholars
- Intensive English Program (IEP & PIE) students
- Optional Practical Training (OPT) students can also enroll when eligible.

Professional plan
You are automatically enrolled in this plan if you are a student in the following health science programs:
- School of Medicine – Doctor of Medicine or Master of Science in Anesthesia
- School of Dentistry
- School of Health and Human Sciences
- School of Optometry
- Department of Speech-Language Pathology Master’s & Doctor of Audiology program

SAA, fellowship recipient, and postdoc fellow plan
You are automatically enrolled in this plan if you are a member of the following groups:
- Student academic appointees (SAAs) appointed at 37.5 FTE or greater and enrolled in at least six credit hours or the G901 thesis/dissertation equivalent each semester (summer excluded)
- Fellowship recipients with an award of $6,750 or more per semester (Fall and/or Spring) and enrolled in at least six credit hours or the G901 thesis/dissertation equivalent each semester (summer excluded)
- Appointed postdoctoral fellows, for example, T-32 grant recipients

Voluntary plan
You can enroll in this voluntary health plan if you are a domestic graduate or undergraduate student who doesn’t qualify for any of the plans above.
